Can I go fishing or not? YES, with a valid fishing licence, independent fishing is allowed!

We have detected untrue information on social networks regarding the sports fishing in Slovenia. We called the National Institute of Public Health (this morning on 080 14 04) where they verbally assured us that independent (solo) fishing is allowed. They added that as long as the fisherman follows all safety guidelines, fishing is by no means prohibited. Let’s follow common sense and follow all safety tips. Do not stay in groups with which we are not already in contact (e.g. family or people in a common household). We do not meet, shake hands, share gear with other fishermen. Consider the distance between people, which should be at least 5 m (we recommend 10 m, as in nature we can afford it).

Already yesterday (March 20, 2020) we turned to two lawyers who unanimously advised that fishing is allowed, and we also turned to the Slovenian Angling Association and are waiting for a response.

We will let you know if there is a change in sport fishing. Anyone who has official information on the topic in question is also asked to let us know, as we will check it out and share it with others.

Physical points of sale are mostly closed, but you can buy permits at www.ribiskekarte.si/en, for this purpose we have also extended the live help every working day via Live Chat until the evening. We are available 24/7 at the e-mail address info@ribiskekarte.si. Tight lines and stay healthy!
